Newsletter Issue 2 - January 2009

A new year brings with it many New Year’s resolutions, and 2009 will certainly bring many interesting and exciting events from the Branch’s side.

This year will also see the 60th Anniversary of the Geneva Conventions protecting people in war, the 150th Anniversary from the Battle of Solferino and Henri Dunant’s idea, and the 90th Anniversary from the creation of the International Federation of the Red Cross.

Remember – if your First Aid certificate was issued in 2006, it will expire this year! This is the time to renew it – contact us to find out more about our upcoming courses! The Palestine Red Crescent Society delivering aid to the people of Gaza and carrying out assessments of the immediate needs of the area, totalling 15.1 million Euros.
